Once again it's time for the annual surf and golf competition with Robert August and Robert “Wingnut” Weaver from the legendary surf movie Endless Summer. Robert August Surf And Turf is a four man team competition. In the golf tournament only the best ball counts and in the surf competition each team member has one heat that counts! Start: 00:00

South of Jaco is Hermosa Beach, the place that will host the Billabong ISA World Surfing Games 2009. Hermosa Beach is a beach break. The contest starts on August 1. with Open Men and Open Women. On August 5. the contest in the category Open Longboard starts. The rainy season in Costa Rica is from May to November so these months are the best to surf as the swells from the South arrive. This means August is a very consistent month in waves, there are approximately 1 or 2 swells per week, with an average wave size of 4 to 8 feet.
